The star of "The Dark Knight" turned himself into authorities on Monday and was released four hours later on bail. Christian Bale's law firm issued a statement saying that Bale had shown up at the police station voluntarily to give his account of the story. He was later released and no charged were made against Christian Bale regarding the assault Christian Bale was just coming off a spectacular weekend where his movie "The Dark Knight" took in a record $158.4 million on its opening weekend. The movie also stars the late Heath Ledger as Batman's nemesis, the Joker. Asked Tuesday if Christian Bale was arrested, a London police spokesperson said, "AA 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault." British police do not name suspects who have not been formally charged. Further reports claim the man who was released on bail is ordered to return in September, but did not show an exact date.
